internet explorer - SVG in IE Quirks mode -
The following mode modes are browser modes: IE9 Compatibility View Document Mode: Quirks
I am displaying a svg in IE >
SVG is not provided. Is it possible to present SVG using this mode?
This depends on the IE version you use and the type of query mode.
We start with obviously: IE8 and earlier do not support SVG, so obviously they will not give you SVG mode in QuarkX mode.
IE9 supports SVG, but the reason for this quirks mode is to disable it (along with many other features), and thus the answer is still "no" for IE9 The Quirks mode is effectively designed for backward-compatibility mode to emulate IE5. Most features are disabled after IE5 when you are in Quirk mode.
By the question, it seems that you are using IE9, this is the case, the answer is 'no', and you can stop reading now.
IE10 and IE11 are slightly different, in this they have two separate quits mode, the old quirks mode is similar to the first, so SVG will not work with it. But the new Quirti mode does not disable all modern browser features just like before, it only changes the layout mode, so the this version of quarkX mode may actually be 'you may be'. The problem is that, I can guess what would happen in your IE 10/11 users in these two query modes. To decide which one IE will use, the rules are quite complicated to go here, but the short version is that if you are on corporate intranet and forcing the shorts mode to cause backward compatibility, Then you are probably in the old IE 5-compatibility quits mode. This means that the answer is "no" again. If you are in new quarters mode, you can use SVG and other modern features. But there is a lot 'if it is, and clearly if you are in that mode, then switching to standard mode is also easy.
